« Incredibly vibrant and expressive with so much energy, this is a rocky and racy expression of the gamay grape. The effusive violet aroma is underlined by a touch of cooked red-beet character. It has a long, quite dry finish in which the fine, compact tannins and stony minerality are tightly interlocked. From a steep, very high-altitude parcel with volcanic soil at the top of the south side of Mont Brouilly. 70- to 80-year-old vines. Drinkable now but best from 2026. « The 2023 Côte de Brouilly La Chapelle, from the steep slopes (50% grade) at the top of Mont Brouilly, offers a thunderous and wild aromatic profile, with dark berries, plums, chocolate, eucalyptus and cracked pepper dominating the nose. The concentrated, sappy fruit on the palate is matched by a taut structure and salinity, suggesting immense power beneath its poised and fresh exterior. Fine-grained tannins, seamlessly intertwined with graphite and flinty minerality, gracefully sheath the wine, drawing it into a tapering, polished finish. A work of both power and restraint, it reveals just enough of its character to appreciate its inherent sophistication needed to tame the latent energy. this is a wine with immense potential, promising further depth with time. »

« Simultaneously deep, sophisticated and taut on the medium-bodied palate, this has the stony intensity we associate with the best wines of this appellation. A touch of zesty blood orange freshness accentuates the freshness of the red fruit character, particularly at the long and racy finish. From 70- to 80-year-vines at the top of the hill of Cote de Brouilly, where it is really steep and the soil is very stony. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2025. »Le guide des meilleurs vins de France 2025 (RVF)

« A standout in the château's lineup, the 2022 Côte de Brouilly La Chapelle, derived from 70- to 80-year-old vines, wafts from the glass with aromas of wild cherries, red plums, lilac petals, underbrush and baking spices. On the medium to full-bodied palate, the wine reveals terrific depth and complexity, layered with supple, tangy cherry fruits and a wet stone salinity that imparts tension. Here, finely woven tannins assert themselves gently on the cheeks, while ripe acids lend a sense of precision and contrast to the concentration of flavor, crafting an experience as refined as it is robust. »

« Deep and fascinating nose with a wide spectrum of aromas from black raspberry to mulberry and smoke. At once concentrated and crisp with stacks of firm yet fine tannins. Very long, extremely stony and racy finish. From a very high altitude and steep parcel with volcanic soil at the top of the south side of Mont Brouilly, planted with 70 to 80 year old vines. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. »Tulipe Rouge

« Élégants parfums de petits fruits rouges épicés, rehaussés d'une pointe florale, que l'on retrouve dans un écrin à la fois délicat et charnu. Plutôt longiligne que structuré, cette chapelle 2021 séduit par sa consistance tout au long de la dégustation, et Catégorie : Tulipe ! »Guide Vert RVF

« This is so typical and textbook with strawberry and cherry character as well as cedar and walnut undertones. It’s full-bodied and tight with lovely length and focus. Burnt citrus adds to the complexity. Flavorful finish. Drink or hold. »RVF Guide vert 2022

« Sour cherry scents, whiffs of cranberry, blackcurrant jubes, salted liquorice, green herbs. The palate is clean and clear, faintly spicy, drives to a gently building pucker, lingers with spice and cherry fruits. Great length, vitality, general sense of purity and drive. It’s a stellar wine here. »Julia Harding MW( Jancis Robinson)

« Bright cherry red. So fragrant, floral and prettily spiced. ‘Could be on the Côte d’Or’, says seasoned burgundy and beaujolais merchant Roy Richards. Wonderful purity on the nose. On the palate, really spicy and so tangy, with zesty yet deep red fruit. Intense, lively and scented on the palate too, with definite but elegant structure and a long life ahead. Utterly mouth-watering and so persistent. Gorgeous. (JH) »Beaujolais Aujourd'hui

« Ripe and dried-fruit aromas of blackberries and plums. Full-bodied, very round and rich. Dense and powerful. Tannic but round-textured. A little four-square now in terms of the structure. Needs at least one or two more years to open and soften. »Bettane & Desseauve

« Nez très parfumé, cerise, violette. Bouche soyeuse, grand pureté aromatique, qui dissimule une grande structure. Superbe vin. »

« Impressive wine with deeper and riper fruits plus an air of that beef stocky character seen in older Thivin wines. This has a little earth and crushed blue rose too; blueberry, stones, more mellow, more cryptic. The palate has salient acidity as a real feature, with impressive depth and focus. More savory, darker fruits, brooding, still locked tight through the finish. Needs time; best from 2020. »

« This has striking deep purple color, already looking richer then the les Sept Vignes bottling; beautifully ripe and concentrated red fruits. Carbonic maceration has built a sheen of fragrance across the top, with some darker purple nuances and a lovely wild berry edge. The palate's impressive in shape and weight - it really holds right on point delivering dark berry flavors in spades. Some squeaky acid/tannin chew and a long, convincing finish. Drink or hold. »Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
