Our traditional wine, blended from our 7 plots on Mont Brouilly.
A majority of white-juiced Gamay noir, but also some Chardonnay to provide finesse.
Our seven plots of Côte de Brouilly all lie on the east, south, and west flanks of Mont Brouilly. Each of these plots is distinguished by its orientation or its position on the slope, and each brings its share of complexity to this wine.
The soils are dominated by the “blue stone“ (Metadiorite), stonier for the highest plots and more clayey for those nearer the foot of the hill.
The vines are at a density of 7,000–9,000 vines/ha laid out with grassed and flower strips for the diversification of the flora and to let our small, light tractors through, we alternate tilling with controlled natural grassing. Hand-picking, converting to organic, Terra Vitis certified for 10 years.
Partly in whole bunches in our hillside cellars and matured in oak tuns for 7 months.
Blending is performed in the Spring on finished wines. The wine in this blend comes from the following plots:
Clos Bertrand, La Chapelle, Les Griottes, Godefroy, L’Héronde, Henri, and Les Fournelles.
Garnet red with bluish glints, bouquet of hawthorn, peonies, cherry, with a touch of minerality, round on the palate with black fruit, and a spicy finish.
We recommend enjoying them after the second year, with a 5–10 years keeping potential.
Red meats, fatted duck breast, lightly-spiced dishes, Lyon cuisine

«Generous and zesty with aromas of blood orange and sour cherry. Quite some tannins and a crisp acidity, but these fit together very well and the fruit is stronger than. Long, sleek and vibrant finish. From 7 parcels with volcanic diorite soil, but different exposures and altitudes. The Kermit Lynch bottling is similar, but unfiltered. 93 (SP)»

«The 2023 Côte de Brouilly Les Sept Vignes offers aromas of dark cherry, ginger spice and dried purple petals. Full-bodied and concentrated, the wine opens with broad shoulders, finding more shape along the mid-palate, influenced by a lining of chalky tannins that accumulate weight as it progresses, finishing with a satisfying, lasting impression of wet stones.»James Suckling

«This is like entering a woodland clearing, the floor of which is covered with violets. The juiciness, velvety tannins and elegant acidity create a very satisfying whole on the medium-bodied palate. The fresh and moderately dry finish has good stony minerality and pulls you back for more. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.Stuart Pigott»Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2026 (RVF)

«Les sept vignes se pose parmi les plus belles entrées de gamme de la région, avec son fruit gourmand, son style plein et son acidité appétente.»

«Complex nose of spices and a wide spectrum of black and red berries, including beautifully ripe blackberries. Although this is not a single-vineyard wine, it has the kind of structure and concentration we expect from those wines on the medium-bodied palate. The crisp mineral acidity lifts the long, elegant finish. A blend from this producer's seven parcels in this appellation. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. by Stuart Pigott»Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2025 (RVF)

«Brimming with strawberry fruit with notes of savory and sage. Stacks of berry fruit, the lively acidity and some healthy tannins create a satisfying harmony on the rather sleek palate. The long stony finish is slightly austere, but not aggressive in any way. Drink or hold. by tuart Pigott»

«Sept vignes est toujours une bonne matière pour découvrir le cru, d'autant que la maturité de ce 2018 le rend plus accessible dans sa jeunesse grâce à une douceur supplementaire . La bouche est typée, avec une matière musclée, un grain de tanin serré.»Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

«Bright crimson with a touch of purple at the rim. Spicy and sweet-fruited but with a slight stemmy freshness. Chewy and fresh yet rich and plush, too. Deep, generous fruit. Tangy generous finish. The tannins are perfectly smooth but well structured for a long future. Such freshness. (JH)»

«Superbly fragrant, perfumed and pretty with strawberry and bright red cherry fruits. Has a really charming nose. The palate has fleshy appeal, fine fluffy tannins and terrific evenhanded shape, plus bright red fruit flavor. Really fresh, fleshy and downright impressive 24-year-old Bojo! Drink now. (2016)»
