“Life is too short to drink poor wine.”
Guillaume BAROIN
Clos Bertrand 2018 "Very impressive purety of fruit and complexity on the nose with subtleness at the same time. It's very tight and compact with beautiful focus and intensity. So long at the finish with ripe fruit and ligth toffee. Fantastic." James Suckling
Zaccharie 2019 : "Time seems to stop when you smell the ravishing violets and summer flowers offered by this great Côte de Brouilly. Breathtaking harmony and finesse, the power totally underplayed, in spite of the substantial fine tannins that anchor this wine. Super long, spicy and mineral finish." James Suckling (TOP 100 WINES OF FRANCE 2021)
" William Kelley ( The Wine Advocate 2019)
" Clos de Rochebonne" 2017 A rounded citrus nose, perhaps a touch of oak taking any sharp edges off the shape. Big and fresh in the mouth – an attack on the palate. Palate-staining flavour here – that’s impressive. Good character, great flavour. Excellent – one of the few Bill Nanson
Ch Thivin, La Chapelle 2017 Côte de Brouilly 18 points Bright cherry red. So fragrant, floral and prettily spiced. ‘Could be on the Côte d’Or’, says seasoned burgundy and beaujolais merchant Roy Richards. Wonderful purity on the nose. On the palate, really spicy and so tangy, with zesty yet deep red fruit. Intense, lively and scented on the palate too, with definite but elegant structure and a long life ahead. Utterly mouth-watering and so persistent. Gorgeous. (JH) Julia Harding Julia Harding MW
Cuvée Zaccharie 2017: Stunning, concentreted black cherries and plenty of the characteristic acidity of the vintage, both seamlessly interxoven with the gentle tanninjs and the minerality through the very long, super clean finish. Examplary use of oak. Almost endless finish. 96pts. James Suckling
La Chapelle 2017 : "Sour cherry scents, whiffs of cranberry, blackcurrant jubes, salted liquorice, green herbs. The palate is clean and clear, faintly spicy, drives to a gently building pucker, lingers with spice and cherry fruits. Great length, vitality, general sense of purity and drive. It’s a stellar wine here." Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
Les 7 vignes 2016: "Nervy, suave on the nose and then utterly convincing as fruity cru beaujolais. Admirable combination of racy acidity and expressive, unforced fruit. This comes down the mountain at you. Long and ridiculously underpriced. Everything in its place. So vibrant. And you could drink this at more or less any stage of its life." Jancis Robinson
