Grape varieties

White-juiced Gamay noir, age of the vines: 50 years.

Terroir

Nicely east-facing on a slight slope behind the lovely village of Quincié-en-Beaujolais. On a light soil of granitic sand.

Cultivation

The vines are trained in goblets with grassed and flower strips for the diversification of the flora and to let our small, light tractors through, we alternate tilling with controlled natural grassing. Hand-picking.

Vinification

Semi-carbonic maceration for optimum extraction of the fruit, vats filled and emptied by gravity to ensure gentle production.

Tasting

A wine full of fruit, crunchy and fresh with a fine, pure bouquet of Gamay and a fine, smooth mouth-feel. Ideal for an apéro with friends or a picnic in the country.

Gamay Noir «Vignes d’Ecussol» Ratings and awards

La Tulipe Rouge

2/4

«Vin délicat, glissant, sur un joli bouquet de fleurs séchées et de framboise. Bouche élancée, sur des tannins fins, qui s’enca - naille d’une légère amertume en finale. Beaucoup de classe et de délicatesse pour ce vin de copain. A delicate, supple wine with a pretty bou - quet of raspberries and dried flowers. Slender on the palate, with fine tannins, it has a more down-to-earth finish with a touch of bitterness. A classy act for a party wine.»

«Spicy scents, red cherry, whiff of tomato leaf, cherry cola. An inviting start. Juicy and gently sweet to taste yet inherently refreshing, vibrant and generally just joyous. Has a cool finish, a touch minty, lovely and gentle. Drinkability is righteous.»
