In St Lager, on the east side of Brouilly’s hill, this bourgeois house built at the beginning of the XIX th century by a lyonnais prominent citizen is facing the Saône’s valley.
Charmed by this beautiful property, its grounds and especially its large arched cellar, Claude MARITN, my fahter-in-law bought it in 1972.
The functional cuvage permits to receive grapes that have just been picked by hand from the vine nearby.
The arched cellar is the perfect place for the raising of wine in big barrels during the winter.
Bottling, taking place in spring, will keep the freshness of Beaujolais villages and Brouilly produced in the estate.
